  My family has seen Dr. McElveen many times and he is absolutely wonderful, but I got a bill (the first one) from them saying that I owed for my daughter's entire bill and it was past due but we have very good insurance so I called his office and asked about the insurance and they told me that they had filed but nothing was paid. I called my insurance company and asked about it and they said they'd not recieved anything from his office and asked that I have his office fax it directly to the person I talked with. I did and was told in a very rude manner by someone on Dr. McElveen's staff that all the insurance companies said that (hint, hint...maybe there's a reason when "all the insurance companies say that"...I've never had that happen before and my daughter is chonically ill and has seen dozens of doctors over the last five years.) Anyway, they did fax it in the next day or so, and the bill was paid within the week, but then the next week I received a letter from his office saying my bill was past due and I needed to call them immediately. I immediately called and asked if I could pay over the phone and told Tricia, the lady who answered, the reason I was late is because I waited to see how much my insurance was going to pay..( I owed less than $13.00) She was very short and complained because she had to wait for a minute for me to pull out my check card after I'd asked her if I could use it to pay by phone. I have heard from others that the staff is rude there. It's a shame that a wonderful person/doctor like Dr. McElveen can't find a staff that, is at the very least polite, even if they're not the most efficient.
